Piia H. Brown strives to embody Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s famous quote “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” Her experience encompasses collaborating nationally with nonprofits, academic institutions, and government agencies to improve programs and achieve operational efficiency. Additionally, as an accountability coach, and through her national and local board service, she is dedicated to empowering individuals and organizations with the tools, resources, and strategies they need to drive meaningful change and thrive.
Piia has been recognized for her efforts to make a lasting impact in Maternal and Child Health and also to the broader community. She has held leadership positions on various nonprofit Boards, and is a recipient of the American Public Health Association's Maternal and Child Health Young Professional of the Year award, the Xavier University of Louisiana 40 Under 40 award, the University of Maryland Global Campus' Edward A Parnell Outstanding Alumnus service award, and also the George Mason University Teacher of Distinction award.
